It is time for the 46th edition of the International Film Festival of India (IFFI 2015). The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the Government of Goa, the Directorate of Film Festivals (DFF) and Entertainment Society of Goa (ESG) are all working together for the arrangements.
Highlights of the 46th edition of IFFI 2015
• Inauguration of the film festival will be on 20 November 2015.
• The chief guest for the opening ceremony - Bollywood actor Anil Kapoor
• Oscar-winning music director A.R. Rahman would be there for the closing ceremony.
• Sunil Arora, Information and Broadcasting Secretary, and R.K. Srivastava, Chief Secretary of Goa, and Damodar Naik, Vice-Chairman of the Entertainment Society of Goa, will inaugurate the film festival.
• A total of 187 films will be screened in many sections from 89 countries in the World Cinema section of IFFI 2015.
• Spain is the country of focus.
• Mélange of 47 films from India will be under the Indian Panorama section.
• From November 20-24, delegates from 38 countries will be a part of the festival.
• “The Man Who Knew Infinity” is the opening film directed by Mathew Brown.
• The opening film is a true story of friendship that changed mathematics forever.
Mr. Arora said, “We have personally inspected and reviewed the preparations at different venues which include arrangements for the opening and closing ceremonies, opening film, Indian Panorama section and arrangements for delegates and media in terms of hospitality and logistics. The film festival is ready to welcome a large audience in Goa with many new and exciting elements in its bouquet.”
According to the Goa Chief Secretary, the State government machinery is geared up completely to organize the festival successfully and make it a memorable experience for nearly 7,000 delegates coming from all across the world.
