Tata Motors unveiled the much-awaited Sierra ICE concept at the Bharat Mobility Expo 2025 in New Delhi. The new SUV sees the return of the iconic Sierra nameplate and introduces both internal combustion engine (ICE) and fully electric models. Sierra ICE is ready to compete in the compact SUV segment. When it launches later this year, it will compete with the likes of Hyundai Creta, Kia Celtus, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara and Skoda Kodiaq following the introduction of the electric model. The Sierra ICE Concept is inspired by the Sierra EV, but has some unique features that distinguish it as an ICE model. The overall aesthetic pays homage to the original Sierra, combining familiar elements with modern styling cues. The front fascia features a vertical SUV position and features a wide LED light strip that extends across the entire width. The grille reflects the design language of other Tata vehicles. The front bumper is finished in black and silver.
The exterior retains the original model's distinctive rectangular side windows, complemented by door handles and two-tone alloy wheels. At the rear, the Sierra ICE features a distinctive LED light strip connecting the slim taillights and a vertical silhouette with a chunky piano black rear bumper accented by a silver skid plate. The interior of the Sierra ICE Concept features a two-tone theme , which reflects a contemporary layout with design elements borrowed from other Tata models such as the Harrier and Safari. The cabin is equipped with a four-spoke steering wheel and a dual-screen setup consisting of a 12.3-inch fully digital driver display and a 10.25-inch infotainment system. The ambient lighting contributes to the modern feel of the cabin.

When it comes to comfort, the Sierra ICE Concept is well-equipped with features like a panoramic sunroof, a wireless phone charger, and power-ventilated front seats. Additionally, it utilizes connected car technology with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto wireless functionality to ensure a seamless connection between driver and passengers. Tata Motors has ensured that the Sierra ICE has an impressive list of features. Highlights include a 12.3-inch touchscreen, a 10.25-inch digital display for the driver and ambient lighting. Designed for comfort, this SUV features power ventilated front seats, wireless charging and a panoramic sunroof.
In terms of safety, the Sierra ICE Concept is equipped with advanced safety features including six airbags, Electronic Stability Program (ESP), Hill Start Assist, ABS with EBD, Automatic Parking Brake and Driver Attention. Warning. For greater safety and comfort, the vehicle is also equipped with Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). Under the hood, the Tata Sierra ICE Concept offers two engine options. The first is a 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder gasoline engine that produces 170 horsepower. and 280 Nm of torque. The second drive option is a 2-liter, four-cylinder diesel engine with 170 horsepower. and with a torque of 350 Nm. The diesel engine is expected to be shared with other Tata models such as Harrier and Safari.
Sierra ICE transmissions include a 6-speed manual transmission and a 6-speed automatic transmission for driving versatility. The Tata Sierra ICE faces tough competition in the compact SUV segment. Its main competitors are Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Volkswagen Tiguan, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Toyota HiRider, Citroen Basalt, MG Aster and the recently launched Honda Elevate.
