Visakam is the star of Lord Subramanya, the deity worshipped for his immense wisdom and bravery.

He was born out of the sparks that emanated from the third eye of Lord Siva and Goddess Parvati. Skanda Puranam states that Shanmuga is the embodiment of the three Shaktis the courage of Goddess Parvati, the auspiciousness and prosperity of Goddess Lakshmi and the wisdom and intellect of Goddess Saraswati.
