Many women and girls suffer from delayed or missed periods which is also a warning sign of pregnancy. There may be a temporary hormonal disturbance or a symptom of polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). Delayed periods can never be considered as a normal occurrence. Ayurvedic health experts say that the delayed periods can be treated quite easily and here are few tips:
The absence of periods is called as anartava which is called as a consequence of imbalanced dosha, kapha, vata and vitaites rakta. Take healthy foods that can help with the missed or delayed periods. Foods that are rich in garlic, ginger, cumin, coriander seeds, fennel, black sesame, fenugreek seeds, black pepper, and turmeric should be consumed. Take black sesame seeds with jaggery and this balances the hormones. Mix two teaspoons of fennel seeds in water and soak them overnight. Drink it in the morning.
Eat papayas and pineapples. Apply Dhanwantharam thailam which relaxes you from stress and this can have an impact on the delayed periods. Asparagus which is known as the queen of herbs can regulate periods. The powder can be taken with milk, sugar and honey.
Aloe vera can also regulate periods. Cut one lead and extract the gel. Mix it with a teaspoon of honey. This should be consumed with empty stomach.
