On Wednesday, a private hospital said a baby girl, who was born three-and-a-half months premature had survived despite multiple adverse conditions, might be the tiniest baby in Delhi.
According to a statement from Balaji Action Medical Institute, born three-and-a-half-months 24 weeks premature and weighing only 550 grams, baby Pinky showed commendable courage in fighting all odds and outshining as a winner. In fact, Doctors treating her claimed that she might be Delhi’s tiniest baby to survive after being delivered in the twenty-fourth week of pregnancy.
Fact-fully, the baby was delivered on January 28 and due to the extreme low weight and premature delivery, the baby was in an unstable condition.
As a matter of fact, Pinky had a renal failure on day three, which was improved with conservative management. The baby also had to be put on ventilator for about 18 days and she is now double her birth weight [1.2 kg] and without any apparent physical or neuro developmental handicaps, which are common in such premature babies according to the statement which also added that the hospital had treated the baby free of cost for two-and-a-half months after she was born.
It's God's miracle otherwise such extraordinary cases can never be dealt with success however great medical science have prospered. Moreover, outstanding courage is what makes a winner like Pinky, in this case.
