Man might have conquered the world and space, but its yet to delve deep into the heart of the marine world.
This week, fisherman John Denton, had a very unexpected catch, a creepy looking piranha-like fish.
Denton who normally fishes in the lake behind his Arlington, Washington, home, caught an unusual looking fish.
"The thing went crazy," Denton said. "I got it kind of close and kind of went, 'That don't look like a bass.'"
“Denton brought his catch to a nearby Cabela's outdoors-equipment store for safekeeping until someone from the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife could identify the creature. The fish turned out to be a pacu, a relative of the piranha, except herbivorous, with square, human-like teeth instead of the piranha's famously pointed, razor-sharp teeth,” reported a website.
Pacu fish, which are native to the warm climates of South America, is definitely new to the waters of a Washington lake.
“Fish and Wildlife officials say the pacu must have been abandoned in the lake by an owner who no longer wanted it. It's anybody's guess as to how long the fish had survived there,” revealed the site.
