In what can be called as the rarest of rare phenomenon, a woman gave birth to twins near midnight on New Year's eve in Medstar Washington Hospital Center. The twins, born minutes after one another, was born in 2013 and 2014 respectively.

A hospital spokeswoman says the twins were born to Yaleni Tohalino and Warren Begazo of Silver Spring, Md. A girl, Lorraine Yaleni Begazo, was born at 11:58 p.m. Tuesday. Her brother, Brandon Ferdinando Begazo, arrived at 12:01 a.m. Wednesday.

Lorraine weighed about 6 pounds, 5 ounces; Brandon weighed 5 pounds, 10 ounces.
