Imagine the shock of a mother who had expected triplets after delivery to be told there is another child coming. Kimberley Fugate was told by doctors about her triplets but to the surprise of the doctors and the new mother another child was born.

The 42-year-old woman was admitted to a Mississippi hospital and was resting after the birth of her triplets when doctors shouted 'More feet!' indicating the birth of another child. 

The fourth child did nor show up in ultrasound scans made during Kimberley's pregnancy. After the birth of her children through C-section, she was resting in labour room when the doctors sounded the alarm. Apparently the little girl remain hidden from scans all those months.

The quadruplets were born at the University of Mississippi Medical Centre on February 8. Kimberley and husband Craig are now the proud parents of four identical baby girls.

At present they are in intensive care as they were born 13 weeks premature. The four identical girls have been named Kristen Sue, Kenleigh Rosa, Kelsey Roxanne and Kayleigh Pearl by the Fugates.

Dr James Bofill in a statement issued by the medical centre said that the chances of spontaneous quadruplets being born are just 1 in 729,000. The fact that they are identical quadruplets makes the event all the more rare. Quite a feat Ms. Kimberley Fugate.
