Bill Gates Investing $80 Million In Arizona For A Smart City Called Belmont

A Bill Gates investment firm has recently purchased 25,000 acres of land just outside of Phoenix in AZ, for $80 million to build a smart city community. This project is set to include 80000 residential units, public schools and commercial buildings. All of this is planned to be built around a flexible infrastructure model for the innovative designs in building a better tomorrow.
Bill Gates’ investment of $80 million was made through an investment group controlled by Gates’ firm called Cascade Investment, which bought a stake in 25000 acre in Belmont near downtown Phoenix. This plan would include 3,800 acres reserved for industrial, office, and retail space, 3,400 acres of open space, and 470 acres would dedicated for public schools.
The smart city project called Belmont, will be designed to feature high-speed networks, autonomous cars, data centers, and vehicles, new manufacturing technologies, and automated logistics hubs which make up for the smart city.
"Comparable in square miles and projected population to Tempe, Arizona, Belmont will transform a raw, blank slate into a purpose-built edge city built around a flexible infrastructure model," Belmont Properties said in a statement. They also stated “Belmont will create a forward thinking community with a communication and infrastructure spine that embraces cutting edge technology, designed around high speed digital networks, data centers, new manufacturing technologies and distribution models, autonomous vehicles, and autonomous logistics hubs”
Belmont is believed to be yet another project of the Bill and Melinda Gates foundation which aims at improving the quality of life for people far and wide. This is a chance to improve and advance innovation worldwide. Belmont will the location for the future, with latest technologies and innovative designs would be tested on a community, creating real life blue-print for how cities of the future would run.
