The Indo-American Foundation of Arizona Ekta Mandir is celebrating Bhagwat Katha on July 16th July 16th to Jul 24th at Ekta Mandir 2804 W Maryland Ave.
Srimad Bhagavatam is one of the eighteen Puranas of Hinduism. It is composed in Sanskrit and also available in almost all Indian languages. Bhagavatam promotes devotion to Lord Krishna integrating themes from the Advaita philosophy of Adi Shankara.
Like other Puranas, Bhagavatam discusses a wide range of topics including cosmology, genealogy, geography, mythology, legend, music, dance, yoga and culture.
As it beings, demons have won a war by defeating deities and now rule the universe. Truth re-emerges as Krishna (called "Hari" and "Vasudeva" in the text).
At first, Krishna makes peace with the demons, understands them and then creatively defeats them, bringing back hope, justice, freedom and good – a cyclic theme that appears in many legends
