Hollywood might not be overt or proud about it but it definitely tries to make the most of a name that was successful earlier milking it for profits over and over. Sequels go on releasing for the movies. Is this an indicator of decline in the originality of the movies? Maybe and maybe not.
2013 could be the year of sequels with as many as 30 of them releasing over the course of the year. Movies like A Good Day to Die Hard, Texas Chainsaw 3D among others already released while garnering a lukewarm response, there are several of them impending a release in the days to come.
Movies like Iron Man 3 Iron Man 3 (April 26), Star Trek: Into Darkness (May 17), Kick Ass-2, Fast & Furious Six (May 24), Hangover III (May 31), Red 2, The Wolverine (July 26), 300: Rise Of An Empire (Aug 2), The Hunger Games: Catching Fire and The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug (Dec 13) are the highly anticipated movies of the year.
Animation sensation, Despicable Me 2 will also release this year. Popular flicks like Paranormal Activity, Sin City: A Dame to Kill For, Anchorman: The Legend Continues etc are all lining up to take a bite off the box office.
Here is a list of the other sequels releasing this year: Monsters University, Thor: The Dark World, Riddick, Insidious Chapter 2, Cloudy 2: Revenge Of The Leftovers (Dec 20), Scary Movie 5, Percy Jackson: Sea Of Monsters (Aug 16), The Last Excorcism II, The Smurfs 2 (Aug 2) and Grown Ups 2 (Aug 30).
The Star sequel performer would be Bruce Willis who will lead four titles this year in the sequel section. Apart from the A Good Day To Die Hard, and G I Joe: Retaliation which have already been released, highly anticipated movies like Red 2 and Sin City: A Dame To Kill For will also feature him.
