Come this Friday, and Bollywood movie fans will be treated to an unusual screen pairing.
Nikhil Advani's D-Day, will bring together Arjun Rampal and Shruti Hassan together for the first time. Not only that, both the actors are believed to have defied all conventions to play their “unusual” roles in the movie.
Starring Arjun in the role of a cold blooded assassin and Shruti as a 'whore', the makers believe that theirs is the nicest track in the movie.
Says a close source, "While Rishi Kapoor is of course at the centre-stage and is hogging all the limelight for being India's Most Wanted criminal who has to be brought back to India from Pakistan, Arjun and Shruti have a big part to play in the entire narrative as well. Director Nikhil Advani has very seamlessly woven their story in this action drama where even though love cannot be on the forefront, it can still be integral to the script.”
One of the common factors that unite the characters of Arjun and Shruti are their business that is kept 'plain and simple'.
"Well, my part is that of an undercover agent who is sleeping with a prostitute. That too happens for a reason and is organically developed. A relationship develops between both of us which is very endearing. The unique thing about the two of us is that while we are in different professions, we are here just to do some plain and simple business," said Arjun Rampal
"Of course on the outside it may seem that we are playing these cold hearted man and woman who have no hope left in mind. However there is indeed something special that develops between the two of us. It is a nice journey for both of us and then when an unexpected incident takes place, it becomes personal for my character Rudra. There is no looking back post that," the actor further added.
Well, will their be a hot chemistry between the two? We will soon find out.
