It was the rarest of rare nights and an extraordinary moment of sorts when three of Indian film industry's biggest stalwarts — Shah Rukh Khan, Mohanlal and Mammootty — took to the podium together in an eventful evening in Dubai.
Shah Rukh Khan was awarded with the titled of the International Icon of Indian Cinema by the big leagues of Malayalam movies, Mammootty and Mohanlal.
Not just that, SRK made the event all the more special as he wrapped a 'lungi' and jigged to the beats of 'Lungi Dance' (Chennai Express) at the Asianet Film Awards in Medan, Dubai.
The Bollywood superstar was soon joined by Mollywood stalwarts Mammootty and Mohanlal, who even sang a song from the blockbuster 'Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge', and the trio rocked-and-rolled to the peppy tunes of Lungi Dance.
"And the lungi dance goes to Kerala and its most loved sons. Mamukka and Laletta," Shah Rukh said.
He later tweeted: "To be given so much love by Mammootty & Mohanlal sir. Felt like crying receiving so much kindness from artists who inspire me to be an actor. Like a dream…like walking on a secret night on an empty road…like feeling a touch for the first time like drinking from the eyes…like love(sic)."
Asianet TV annual awards is held every year to felicitate artistic and technical excellence in the Malayalam film industry, with over 30 award categories.
This is the second time around the awards show took place in Dubai, after 2012.
