Microsoft Surface RT Tablet Orders Cut By 50%

Are Windows Surface RT tablets a failure? A new report from Digitimes says so. Microsoft has according to sources cut the orders for Surface RT tablets by 50%. Instead of the planned 4 million units only 2 million are supposed to be going into the sales channel. The reason for the cut is weak demand. The demand for Windows RT tablets in general is according to Digitimes weak. The Surface tablet did sell out during pre-order. If the rumors are true than only early adopters bought the Surface tablet at launch and then sales dropped off. Looks like consumers stick to the Apple iPad this Holiday season.
