The Vanity Fair actress Reese Witherspoon is all set to go wild for her next big venture.

The 37-year-old actress will both direct and act in the film, that is buzzed to be the celluloid adaptation of Cheryl Strayed’s best-selling memoir Wild: From Lost to Found on the Pacific Crest Trail.

The novel is a 'self-reflection' of Strayed’s 1100-mile Pacific Crest Trail after her agonizing past marred by drugs, divorce, and the death of her mother.

Apparently, Strayed had sent a copy of her novel to Witherspoon with a note that read "I can’t imagine who else would do this."

Witherspoon, at once, took interest and so did 'High Fidelity' and 'Fever Pitch' writer Nick Hornby, who will adapt the book for the big screens. Fox Searchlight Pictures will distribute the film.

"We are so excited to be working with Fox Searchlight to bring Wild to the screen. It is an extraordinary company that continually strives to bring original, inspirational films to the marketplace. We are thrilled to collaborate with them on Wild," Witherspoon said in a statement.

The film is likely to hit the floor later this year.
