The Twitter world just got a new addition! On Tuesday, Aug. 20, actress and self-proclaimed social-networking renitent Drew Barrymore finally got herself a Twitter account.

With nearly half of Hollywood on Twitter, Drew Barrymore couldn't be any late to join the tweet brigade.

The 'Never Been Kissed' star who has been shying away from Twitter until now, finally licked her qualms and joined the micro-blogging site yesterday.

Tweeting for the first time, she wrote, "Late to the Party But Happy to Be Here!"

"140 characters should keep me from rambling...someone told me it doesn't all have to fit in 1 tweet," she concluded in her inaugural post.

Barrymore had previously stated that she was too "old-fashioned” to join a social networking site."I know I'm an anomaly, I know everyone else is in love with it, but it's not for me," she said in a 2010 radio interview.

She is just a day old in Twitter, but the actress has managed to draw more than 6,000 followers within hours of her induction. Not bad, we say!
