Raina, Dhoni, and Masakadza Ensured India’s WinCricket

Unbeaten India continued its winning edge against Zimbabwe team today. In a reply to Zimbabwe’d decent 287 runs, India started poor innings as both the openers Rohit Sharma and Shikar Dhawan had left the crease at 21 runs of team’s score.

Kohli and Rahane also struggled to stay on the crease as the Zimbabwean bowlers have done a great job. But Suresh Raina who came after Rahane made the day for India, as he made his ton by utilizing the catch drop by Masakadza. Skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni 85 in 76 balls with 8 fours and 2 sixes.

Both Raina and Dhoni tried to balance the game with defence in the beginning, but they have fired on the Zimbabwean bowlers once India got control over the match. Suresh Raina who scored 110 in 104 balls with 9 fours and 4 sixes, was given the Man of the Match award, he must thanked Masakadza.

Zimbabwean captain Brendan Taylor has scored 138 runs aggressively in 110 balls with 15 fours and 5 sixes, while Sean Williams scored half a ton in 57 balls with 3 fours and 3 sixes. Pakistani born Sikandar Raza has scored 28 runs in just 15 balls with 3 sixes and one four.

Indian spin specialists Ravichandran Ashwin has given 75 runs in his 10 overs, but taken only one wicket, while another spinner Ravindra jadeja has given 71 runs in his 10 overs without grabbing any wicket. Mohammed Shami, Umesh Yadav, and Mohit Sharma have taken 3 wickets each.

Indian bowlers have taken 60 wickets in all the six matches, which is a rare distinction. India will be having its quarter final match with Bangladesh on Thursday March 19 at melbourne.
