The soft spoken Rohit Sharma, who wondered the world with his storming 264 runs in ODI, has shared his views on creating records and breaking them in cricket. He just said that records are to be broken and do not want any player to break his record. He also said that every player want to score high.
Many have thought that Martin Guptil would beat the record of highest score in one day cricket, but he was confined to unbeaten 237 runs against West Indies. Playing throughout the innings with same pace is not an easy task and doing double centuries every day is not possible, according to him.
He said that people expect more from the player, like after beating 250 runs fans look for 300, and if 300 is also scored people would go for 350 runs. "I don't know about that to be honest. When you play those big shots, it's important to get your basics right. A lot of technical issues goes into that. You need to hold your shape (proper balance). If you can hit straight over the bowler, maintain shape, I don't think you need to play any fancy shots," Rohit added.
Rohit has impressed the cricket lovers with his commendable gaming with a century against Bangladesh in Quarter Final match. India will be having its semi final clash with equi-potential Australia on Thursday in Sydney. Indian team has been performing excellent in this edition of Cricket World Cup with a great record of sweeping all the teams. Australia has the advantage of home weather and cheering by local spectators.
Team India troubled like anything in the hands of Australia in the series played in Australia before World Cup event. But, the players of Indian side are much good in all departments to take revenge on OZ.
