Ishan Kishan, the 26-year-old wicket keeper- batter is setting his path to enter into world-class cricket again. He is all set to be the captain of Jharkhand in the upcoming Buchi Babu Trophy. The tournament will start on August 15th in Chennai, Tamil Nadu as reported in ESPNcricinfo. To return to first-class cricket the step taken by Kishan is now talk of the sports world.
Kishan was included in the Buchi Babu trophy only after his request to the Jharkhand State Cricket Association (JSCA). To ESPN, a Jharkhand official said, “With Ishan, it was never about ability. It was only about whether he was ready to return. The decision was with him. When he was not included in the initial list, it was only because we hadn’t heard of him. The moment he expressed his keenness to return, he was drafted in.”
He has a challenging year. He was kept aside by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) alongside Shreyas Iyer. He was not disappointed when he was not selected and took part in Ranji Trophy matches.
If Kishan wanted to play for Indian cricket team, he should show extremely good performance in these matches and should also play the Duleep trophy as well.

After that, he represented Mumbai Indians in IPL 2024. In the Indian Premier League 2024, in 14 matches, the wicketkeeper was okay with the bat. He accumulated 320 runs at an average of 22.86, with a strike rate of 148.84.
Overall, Ishan Kishan has played for 32 matches representing India and scored 786 runs at an average of 25.7 and a strike rate of 124.4.
Coming to One Day International Match (ODI), Ishan has played 27 matches scoring 933 runs at an average of 42.4 and a strike rate of 102.2. He has one century and seven half-centuries in his kitty in ODI’s.
