The United States Women's Football team shattered Netherlands dreams of winning the FIFA Women's World Cup 2019 title as the defending champions beat the Netherlands by 2-0 in the final to lift the title at the Parc Olympique Lyonnais in France on Sunday.
The feat was acknowledged by President Donald Trump, former U.S. President Barack Obama and also the Office of First Lady Melania Trump, even as her husband and POTUS (President of the United Status) had criticized Megan Rapinoe a few days back for her remarks on U.S. team's White House Visit. Rapinoe scored the opening goal for the U.S. in the final and won the player of the tournament.
This is the fourth time that the United States has won the World Cup. Before the 2019 victory, United States won the title in 1991, 1999 and 2015.
Yes! Fourth star. Back to back. Congrats to the record breakers on the @USWNT, an incredible team that’s always pushing themselves—and the rest of us—to be even better. Love this team. #OneNationOneTeam

First Lady Melania Trump extended congratulations to the team on winning the world cup, days after U.S. President Donald Trump criticized U.S. football star Megan Rapinoe for her remarks on the team visiting the White House.
Congratulations to 2019 Women’s World Cup Champions @TeamUSA

President himself tweeted after USA's victory:
Congratulations to the U.S. Women’s Soccer Team on winning the World Cup! Great and exciting play. America is proud of you all!

“No, I’m not going to the White House,” Rapinoe had said after her same comment came laced with expletives earlier.
President Trump had criticized the football star for her remark. "Women’s soccer player, @mPinoe, just stated that she is “not going to the F...ing White House if we win.” Other than the NBA, which now refuses to call owners, owners (please explain that I just got Criminal Justice Reform passed, Black unemployment is at the lowest level..." Trump had said in a series of tweets.

"Megan should never disrespect our Country, the White House, or our Flag, especially since so much has been done for her & the team. Be proud of the Flag that you wear. The USA is doing GREAT!," Trump had said.
Megan had not directly addressed President Trump's tweet, but said she did not want her and USA team's struggle for equality “co-opted by an administration that doesn’t feel the same way and doesn’t fight for the same things that we fight for.”
