The Arizona Diamondbacks will have to get a new coach as hitting coach Don Baylor is moving on to a new team. He will join as the coach of the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim.
Baylor had coached the Diamondbacks since the 2011 season, “following a two-year stint in the same position with the Colorado Rockies. He played six seasons with the Angels from 1977 to 1982, winning the American League MVP in 1979,” reports Arizona Sports.
The 64-year-old is apparently the third coach to quit the Diamondbacks. Last week, pitching coach Charles Nagy and first base coach Steve Sax quit from their jobs.
The Diamondbacks has requested all of their other coaches to return.
