Apple has announced that support for Apple Intelligence features will be added to the Apple Vision Pro in April. This suite of artificial intelligence capabilities will debut on the company's inaugural mixed reality headset with the upcoming visionOS update. Additionally, a new app called Spatial Gallery will be introduced, providing users with access to curated content specifically for the Vision Pro. Another new application for iPhone will enable users to manage downloads on the headset.
The Apple Vision Pro will also introduce a Guest User mode, which facilitates sharing the headset with others. According to the company, the rollout of Apple Intelligence features will commence alongside the launch of visionOS 2.4 in April. Key initial elements will feature Writing Tools, incorporating ChatGPT, Image Playground available through a standalone app for Vision Pro, and Genmoji. At the outset, these features will be exclusive to users who have selected English (US) as their device language.
Furthermore, users will have the capability to craft Memory Movies within the Photos app, which will also accommodate natural language search functions, as well as utilize Smart Reply options in Mail and Messages. Other enhancements for Vision Pro will encompass Image Wand in Notes, Priority Messages in Mail and Notification Center, along with Mail Summaries and Notification Summaries.
The much-anticipated Guest User mode allows spatial computer owners to lend their device to others, though it will not function as a comprehensive multi-user system with separate logins. Instead, guest users can save their eye and hand calibrations for up to 30 days after their session. Following the visionOS 2.4 update, Vision Pro owners will have the option to use their iPhone or iPad to initiate a new Guest User session and designate accessible apps for other users.
Upon upgrading to iOS 18.4, Apple Vision Pro users will notice a new application on their phones facilitating remote app management for the headset. This app will allow for viewing device information, downloading applications and games, and discovering recommendations for new content, including 3D films and Apple Immersive titles. The visionOS 2.4 update will introduce the Spatial Gallery app, showcasing spatial photos, videos, panoramas, and other materials tailored for the display capabilities of the mixed reality headset, covering themes such as art, culture, entertainment, lifestyle, nature, sports, and travel. The rollout of visionOS 2.4 is set for April, and Apple Intelligence features will be initially available to users with English (US) as their language setting for both the device and Siri.
The functionalities are anticipated to be introduced in additional areas where the headset can be purchased, such as Australia, Canada, China, Hong Kong, France, Germany, Japan, Korea, Singapore, Taiwan, the UAE, and the UK.
