On Tuesday, Sony introduced the WF-C710N truly wireless earphones to various international markets. These earphones feature advanced noise-cancellation technologies such as Ambient Sound and Adaptive Sound Control. They retain a similar aesthetic to their predecessor, the Sony WF-C700N, and maintain an IPX4-rated resistance to splashes. The new WF-C710N earbuds are designed to work with Sony's Sound Connect app and promise a significant improvement in battery life, boasting a total playback duration of up to 30 hours compared to the 15-hour capacity of the earlier model. The retail price for the WF-C710N in the UK has been set at GBP 120 (approximately Rs. 11,100), while in selected European territories, they are listed at EUR 100 (about Rs. 9,300), as detailed in a recent press announcement. In the United States, these earphones are available for $119.99 (around Rs. 10,300) and can currently be pre-ordered from local Sony online stores.
The WF-C710N earphones come in four distinct colors: Black, Glass Blue, Pink, and White. The Glass Blue option features a transparent design, while the other colors exhibit soft pastel tones. Equipped with 5mm drivers, the Sony WF-C710N supports Sony’s Digital Sound Enhancement Engine (DSEE) processing technology to deliver well-balanced and clear sound quality. They also incorporate Dual Noise Sensor technology, which utilizes two microphones to pick up and minimize background noise. Additionally, the earbuds support an Ambient Sound mode, enabling users to hear some external sounds for greater situational awareness. The Sound Connect app lets users modify the intensity of the ambient sound across 20 levels and customize the equalizer settings for a tailored listening experience.
A specific Voice Passthrough feature disables noise cancellation, allowing all surrounding sounds to be heard. The Adaptive Sound Control function adjusts the noise-cancellation effectiveness based on environmental noise levels. Furthermore, the WF-C710N employs AI-driven Precise Voice Pickup technology, enhancing call clarity. According to Sony, these TWS earphones are compatible with AAC and SBC audio codecs and enable dual-device connectivity with Bluetooth 5.3. They offer touch controls for playback, skipping tracks, and volume adjustments. With an IPX4 rating, they are resistant to water splashes.
The Sony WF-C710N earphones are designed to provide up to 30 hours of playback when using the charging case. Without the case, they can deliver approximately 12 hours from a single charge. The cylindrical charging and storage case is equipped with a USB Type-C port, weighs around 38g, while each individual earbud weighs approximately 5.2g.
