When Roald Dahl dreamed up Willy Wonka and his amazing 'chocolate' possibilities in 'Charlie and the Chocolate Factory' in 1971, little did he know that eons later, his dream might take a new shape.
Researchers at the National University of Singapore have created a first of its kind of a lollipop, a 'digital lollipop' that uses electric currents to transmit diverse tastes to your tastebuds.
The 'sweet' device is apparently inspired from the fictional 'Everlasting Gobstopper' that never runs out and the 'Chewing Gum Meal' that had diverse flavors packed into one piece of gum.
It has all the major tastes — sweet, salty, bitter and sour — that has been mimicked through a silver electrode. Not just that, 'the gadget also makes tiny adjustments in temperature to simulate tastes more convincingly.'
Sensational, isn't it!
