The American technology giant Microsoft has officially launched a new feature on Skype wherein the users can have an option to blur their background during the video calls.
Now, the Skype users will be able to bring them in focus by blurring the background during video calling.
This new feature on Skype is rolled out on the latest version for desktops as well as laptops. The similar background blur feature was earlier in 2018 introduced for Microsoft Teams users and it has not arrived for Skype. With this new feature, Skype users will be able to blur the messy backgrounds, especially during business conference calls.
All desktop and laptop users can blur the background by clicking on the option provided at the bottom of the screen during a video call. Once the user clicks on the button, they will find an option - 'Blur my background' toggle. Once selected, the background will seamlessly get out of focus.
The company mentioned on its blog that, "Background blur in Skype and Teams uses artificial intelligence (AI)-trained in human form detection-to keep you in focus during your call. This technology is also trained to detect your hair, hands, and arms, making a call with background blur just as relaxed and easy as a regular video call."
Cautioning the users, Microsoft also mentioned, "We do our best to make sure that your background is always blurred, but we cannot guarantee that your background will always be blurred."
