Finally, some justice comes for a tormented granddaughter who was repeatedly raped and made pregnant by her step grandfather!

A court in West Bengal's Darjeeling district has sentenced the man to a lifer for his heinous misdeed.

Mohan Thapa, 50, a resident of Singamari under Darjeeling Sadar police station, raped his 15-year-old grandchild several times between September 2010 and May 2011.

“Partha Pratim Chakraborty, additional sessions judge, first Court, Darjeeling, Thursday ordered Thapa to pay a fine of Rs.50,000, and in default, further undergo two years' simple imprisonment.”

The victim was  residing with her grandparents. Whenever, his wife was away, Thapa used to forcefully sleep with her.

The truth popped out after the victim's teacher noticed changes in her appearance. On probing, the victim revealed that she was being repeatedly raped by her grandfather. “On medical examination, she was found pregnant, and delivered a girl in June, 2012.”

The victim has been sent to Kalimpong where she is studying in a missionary school. The court  has asked the accused to pay the fine to the victim.
