Tuscon police held a high school student for making a hoax call to 911,tipping off about a possible gunman on school campus, on Thursday.
The 14-year-old has been booked on two counts, both misdemeanor offenses - firstly, for perfidiously reporting an emergency and secondly, for disorderly conduct.
Authorities revealed that they received an emergency call at around 9 a.m on Thursday reporting that an anonymous man was spotted carrying three guns in Santa Rita High School.
Police traced back the call to a mobile phone belonging to a friend of the teenage suspect.
The incident was reported a day after the school was locked-down because of a reported sighting of a mysterious gunman in the area.
