Tuscon police held a high school student for making a hoax call to 911,tipping off about a possible gunman on school campus, on Thursday.

The 14-year-old has been booked on  two counts, both misdemeanor offenses - firstly, for perfidiously reporting an emergency and secondly, for disorderly conduct.

Authorities revealed that they received an emergency call at around 9 a.m on Thursday  reporting that an anonymous man was spotted carrying three guns in Santa Rita High School.

Police traced back the call to a mobile phone belonging to a friend of the teenage suspect.

The incident was reported a day after the school was locked-down because of a reported sighting of a mysterious gunman in the area.
