In a most disturbing incident, Shihan Hussain crucified himself to demand his leader’s return as Tamil Nadu chief minister. Hussain demanded the return of  AIADMK chief J Jayalalithaa. 

Hussain said he was a karate expert and crucified himself on a wooden cross as dozens of AIADMK workers watched. The aid helped him in nailing to the wood. They digged 6-inch nails into his feet and hands.

Sources say that, he stood in the crucified position for more than six minutes while struggling with pain.

Jayalalithaa  had quit from the post of Tamil Nadu’s Chief Minister last year after being convicted in an corruption case. She was sentenced for 4 years jail with a fine of Rs. 100crore, the biggest ever imposed on any politician.

The conviction had also evoked sporadic violence in Tamil Nadu where public vehicles were attacked and shops were closed.

She was replaced by one of her loyalist O Paneerselvam as Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu.
