Soaring temperatures in Arizona are landing people in hospital due to heat-related illness. According to Ron Hart of the Glendale Fire Department, night at the Arizona Cardinals pre-season game, twenty-one people have reportedly suffered from heat-related illnesses. Out of them some were stadium employees, while some were tailgaters.

In a statement, Hart said, "They were treated by Glendale Fire Medics and transported, if necessary, to local hospitals for further evaluation."

ABC affiliate KNXV in Phoenix said that eleven people were hospitalized. As per KNXV, temperatures reached 115 degrees.

"None of the heat stressed individuals have life-threatening injuries at this time," Hart added in a statement.

Temperatures are expected to reach 114 degrees today, thus leaving an excessive heat warning in the Phoenix area. It is expected that temperatures could reach 118 degrees in Palm Springs and 110 degrees in Las Vegas.
