India Association of Phoenix is gearing up for India Nite 2016, scheduled to take place at Arcadia High School auditorium, Phoenix, Arizona, on 30 January 2016.
The non-profit volunteer umbrella organization represents sister organizations and non-profit organizations of the community of Indian heritage in the State of Arizona. Prof. Ved P. Nanda, Special Guest at India Nite 2016
Prof. Ved P. Nanda would be the Special Guest at the event of India Nite 2016. Prof. Ved P. Nanda is University of Denver Sturm College of Law Professor, International Law Evans University Professor, Thompson G. Marsh Professor of Law, Director, Ved Nanda Center for International & Comparative Law.
Since 1965, Professor Nanda has taught at the University of Denver College of Law. Few of his achievements besides his scholarly achievements include involvement in global international law community, leadership positions in World Jurist Association, advisory council of the United States Institute of Human Rights, and American Society of International Law, American Law Institute and the ABA’s Human Rights Center and Section of International Law.
Professor Nanda founded and directed the International Legal Studies Program from 1972 at the College of until he stepped down in 2013. He now directs the Ved Nanda Center for International and Comparative Law. A Ved Nanda Professorship was also established by alumni and friends.
He received countless national and international awards, authored or co-authored 24 books in numerous fields of international law, and his work was published in law journals and national magazines.
Prof. Ved P. Nanda has been a Distinguished Visiting Professor and Scholar at universities in the UnitedStates as well as abroad. He was a Board of Directors and National Council, United Nations Association of the United States of America (UNA-USA) member; United States representative to the World Federation of United Nations Association, Geneva, Vice-Chair and Member of the Executive Committee and the Finance Committee and many other positions.
