On the occasion of the National Public Lands Day, you will have a chance to visit parks, forests and monuments for free and show their gratitude on Saturday, September 24.
The National Public Lands Day has been celebrated on the last Saturday of September since 1994. It promotes enjoyment of outdoor public spaces such as parks and forests, while offering people who enjoy those spaces a chance to give back through volunteering.
According to the National Park Service, National Public Lands Day is the "nation's largest, single-day volunteer effort for public lands."
Arizona is home to 22 national parks and monuments, which bring in over 11.7 million visitors each year. These national parks and monuments charge $15 as charge entrance fees, including the Grand Canyon which costs visitors $15 per person or $30 per vehicle.
