A former Arizona Governor has divulged about the night of Phoenix Lights Incident 20 years after the sighting of mass UFO, claiming that he too saw aliens.

Fife Symington, aged 71, who was the former governor of Arizona from 1990 to 1998, reveals that he was the witness of one of the world's biggest ever sighting of mass UFO and he believes that it was extraterrestrial.

The incident of Phoenix Lights remains as one of the world's most perplexing sighting of mass UFO on record, and also it still causes the intrigue among alien research community, even though many of the sceptics claim to have debunked the case.

It became a phenomenon in 13th March 1997 when thousands of people reported that of seeing huge triangular UFO’s drifting over Arizona and also the city of Phoenix.

The size of UFO’s varied from a Boeing 747 to the multiple football fields.

Mr Symignton has made the confession in an interview with the UFO investigator James Fox in the year 2006.

But as of now Mr Fox has released a never before seen footage in the interview to coincide with it being the 20th anniversary year.

In the newly-released video footage, Symington said that he believes the UFO sighting was escalated up the chain of command.

He said: “Issues like this go up the chain of command all the way to the Pentagon.”

“We called the Pentagon…I think they knew there had been sightings, but they weren’t talking about it.”

Mr Symington described about the official Air Force explanation - that the UFO’s were the flares as “total bunk.”

He also said: “I have seen high altitude flares before. There is no way they were flares.”

“It has never been explained.”

In the interview, Mr Fox said that some people have criticised Mr Symington for his own handling of the Phoenix Light incident at the time.

This act has prompted the former governor to open up about being a witness to the incident.

Scott Brando runs the website ufoofinterest.org which exposes the hoax of UFO sightings.

He also said that the Phoenix Lights Incident was explained as the aircraft and also military flares.

He told Eto xpress.co.uk: “The Phoenix lights were explained with two different events.”

The first explanation was the flight of five planes in the V-shape formation.

"This is what the witness saw in that day.

"The second event was the launch of military flares over Estrella mountains."

Referring to the triangle UFO’s generally, he added that: “About other similar sightings I'd like to see some reports by MUFON, however many formation of sky lanterns or the launch of skydivers.”

"Golden Knights were often mistaken for UFOs.”

In the last month, the Hollywood legend Kurt Russell has revealed on the BBC One Show that he saw the Phoenix Lights as he landed at an airport on that night.
