In a tragic mishap, a total number of 125 people have been killed in a football that took place in a stadium. Thousands of them have been angry on the home fans after which the cops had to use tear gas. In this confusion, there was a stampede that lead to a massive human loss. This is one of the biggest ever disasters that took place in a stadium ever. The tragedy took place on Saturday night in Malang, Indonesia and 323 people were injured as per the official reports and records. The supporters of Arema FC marched on to the pitch after the team lost the match by 3-2 for Persebaya Surabaya. The cops tried hard to restrict the fans and the mishap took place. Most of them got trampled or choked to death as per the reports. East Java deputy governor Emil Dardak issued an official statement that 125 people died.
Some of the names have been reported or recorded twice told the cops. After the tear gas was released, the crowd was left in panic and they were in a rush to come out. There was no riot told a spectator who survived. President Joko Widodo ordered a probe and a clear investigation on the tragedy. The videos told that the cops started firing huge amount of tear gas and people started climbing over the fences. Amnesty International called for an investigation. There were lot of lifeless bodies left in the stadium after the crowd got cleared. Some of the videos and visuals showed people shouting at the cops with riot shields. The stadium had 42,000 people present and the cops said that close to 3000 people came on to the pitch. Fan violence has been a huge headache in Indonesia. The fans of Arema FC and Persebaya Surabaya are rivals from years.
