Morocco: The country saw the scariest earthquake on September 8, taking 3000 lives. Earthquake struck with 6.8 magnitude at the High Atlas Mountains.
Search teams from various countries have landed in Morocco to locate the survivors. The country even offered assistance from Spain and Britain. They have landed with sniffer dogs to locate the survivors as part of the Search- and –Rescue operation. The United Arab Emirates has also extended its aid.
The Earthquake took place in remote area villages of Morocco. Authorities are still unable to provide the estimated number of missing. Village Tinmel is completely flattened. The entire community of the village is homeless. Government officials are providing drinking water, food, tents and blankets through the military.
The stories from the rescued people turned horrifying. Many families have been deserted. Many have even pulled out the bodies of their loved ones, which were buried under their crushed homes without any help.
The Morocco Earthquake not only damaged people's lives, it also damaged the old city, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Marrakech and also harmed the historically important 12th-century Tinmel Mosque.
Morocco Government, despite the worst hit, continues their World Bank meetings as scheduled, which are expected to draw 10,000 attendees.
