Vice President and the presidential candidate Kamala Harris is inching toward the support by overtaking Donald Trump.
On Sunday, she launched her campaign, ‘Republicans for Harris’. The campaign group early named the campaign the ‘Republicans for Biden’ and now changed it to ‘Republicans for Harris’. The vice president's team calls it a campaign within a campaign.
This program has already gained 25 GOP endorsements, starting from former secretaries Chuck Hagel and Ray Lahood, former White House Press Secretary Stephanie Grisham and Olivia Troye, and also ex-national security adviser to former Mike Pence, former vice president.
Kamala Harris is the first Asian woman in the Vice President’s seat. She has traveled to more than 20 different countries and met 150 world leaders. She calls back the US for more commitments rather than creating a global outrage. She also attended one of the most important international security summits, which happened at Munich in Biden’s place.
Besides this writer Salman Rushdie has expressed his support for Kamal Harris, saying, it is a great moment to see the Black and Indian running the white house. Rushdie called Trump a hollow man without a single noble quality. He is the first South Asian writer in support of Harris. Critics also express that after Joe Biden has stepped down and Kamala Harris has joined the race, the complete presidential race has seen a new transformation.
While Kamala is attacking differently, Trump is taking a different way.
Trump after an assassination attack on him, gained public attention, but with the presidential candidate change, Kamala has gained the attention and also gained the support of Asians in the USA. Many even feel that Kamala is 1000 times better than Trump, including noble Award winner Salman Rushdie.
After Trump questioned the identity of Kamala Harris as the black and an Indian, the graph of Kamala has even more hiked up. Many raised the question that Donald Trump is facing an identity crisis.
Whatever may be the analysis, there is also a scheduled debate between Kamala Harris and Donald Trump on September 4th on Fox News. Trump has officially confirmed this through his social media platform. He said earlier the debate was scheduled between me and the sleepy head Joe Biden on ABC and now Biden was no longer the presidential candidate, so the debate has shifted.
However, there is no confirmation from Harris' side. But, she has already agreed to an open debate last month in her campaign. The debate is going to give a clear picture of the strength of Trump and Harris, if at all it happens.
