Analysis :
The first half of Tamasha has been well written and narrated good. The characters have been well designed and the love making scenes during the first half have been completely fresh and entertaining. The songs have been shot in beautiful locales which elevate the film well. On the whole the complete first half has been above the expectations.
After an impressive first half, Imtiaz Ali tried too much reality which dips the film. Ranbir has been projected in too many shades which confuse the audience. The movie becomes quite slow and boring which is the major reason for the film’s downfall. On the whole the second half leaves the audience in shock as it was not handled well.
Performance :
Ranbir Kapoor is undoubtedly the major highlight of the movie. He has taken the movie to the next level with his stupendous performance. Deepika Padukone too has been equally good and she handled the emotional episodes well. Javed Sheikh has been decent as Ranbir’s father and all the other actors have done justice for their roles.
The story of the movie has been thin but it has been elaborated well. The screenplay of the movie during the second half should have been taken extra care. The dialogues have been decent and so is the music. The background score and the cinematography are the major highlights of the movie. The production values have been grand and rich enough. Imtiaz Ali managed to deliver well with the first half but the second half dips badly.
Final Word:
Tamasha dips badly because of the deviated second half. Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone have been outstanding throughout the movie.
