They have been assigned to arrest Vicky Chadha (Thakur Anoop Singh) who is an International money launderer based in Thailand. Twist arises after Vicky’s wife Maria (Eesha Gupta) takes the lead. The rest of Commando 2 is all about how Karan handles the mission.
Analysis
The first half of the film has been badly penned and executed. It has nothing new to offer and the poor screenplay makes the film flat right from the first frame. Even the characters have not been well framed and it is the pre-interval twist that makes the film interesting. However things change instantly and the songs have not been well shot. The action stunts performed by Vidyut Jammwal are the only good things that happened for the film.
The second half of the movie too has nothing much interesting to narrate. It is the lean concept and bad execution that kills the film and its flavor. With many flaws throughout the second half, Commando 2 fails to impress the audience. In the second half, the background score has been apt. The climax episodes have been decently shot however the film fails to make the audience sit engaging.
Performance
Vidyut Jammwal has been exceptional and flawless with his performance. He has been stunning with his looks and the action episodes looked fantabulous. Adah Sharma has been glamorous and she looked perfect for her assigned role. Thakur Anoop Singh has been bold and ruggish for his assignment and did it with perfection. Freddy Daruwala has been decent and all the other actors delivered out their best.
The story of Commando 2 has nothing much to reveal and it looked clumsy. The screenplay and the dialogues are the major reasons for the film’s failure and they have not been penned with perfection. The background score looked elevating and the cinematography looked decent. The grand production values made the film look lavish in each frame. The director failed in all the available ways in delivering out a decent commercial action drama.
Final Word
Vidyut Jammwal opts out for a poor script which leaves Commando 2 make no noise at the box-office.
