Bollywood star Salman Khan mentioned that he thought gangster Lawrence Bishnoi attempted to harm him and his family with the shooting outside his residence. The police presented his account during last month's interrogation, included in the 1,735-page chargesheet filed recently. India Today was the first to obtain the chargesheet, where Salman Khan revealed ongoing threats from Lawrence Bishnoi and his group to his family. He advised his relatives and loved ones to stay vigilant. The incident occurred while he was asleep on the early hours of April 14th. "I heard a loud noise which seemed like a firework. At approximately 4:55 a.m., the police guard informed me that two individuals on a motorcycle had fired at the first floor balcony of Galaxy Apartment. There have been prior instances of threats and attacks towards me and my family. I later discovered from social media that Lawrence Bishnoi claimed responsibility for the assault."
The actor mentioned that Lawrence Bishnoi and his brother Anmol Bishnoi had admitted to carrying out an attack on him in a Facebook post. He shared that there were prior threats from Lawrence Bishnoi and his associates to harm him and his family. Salman Khan and his brother spoke to a team from the crime branch on June 4. The actor's statement was recorded for nearly four hours while his brother's account took over two hours. Salman Khan also described various instances where he was threatened by Lawrence Bishnoi and his gang. He recalled that in 2022, his father had found a threat letter at their building entrance, and in March 2023, an email was received from one of his employees, warning about Lawrence Bishnoi.

He also noted that earlier this year, in January, two individuals tried to enter his farmhouse in Panvel using false names and identities, leading to a case being registered. The police informed him that these individuals were from Fazilka village in Rajasthan, which is where Lawrence Bishnoi originates from. Salman Khan stressed the importance of vigilance among his family and relatives and highlighted that he is under Y plus security provided by the Mumbai Police. On April 14, there was a shooting incident outside his residence involving two men on a motorcycle, who were later apprehended in Gujarat. Six people were arrested in this case, while one of them, Anuj Thapan, died in police custody on May 1. Mumbai Police filed a chargesheet of over 1,500 pages against five suspects accused of planning Salman Khan's assassination. The chargesheet revealed a contract worth Rs 25 lakh for killing the actor, with the suspects belonging to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang aiming at acquiring modern weapons for the crime. A case has been registered on Lawrence Bishnoi and his younger brother Anmol Bishnoi.
