Chilling details have been revealed in a new indictment against five suspects accused of plotting to assassinate Bollywood actor Salman Khan. According to Navi Mumbai Police, the accused is associated with the notorious Lawrence Bishnavi gang and has been booked for conspiracy to commit murder and other crimes. On April 14, two men on a motorcycle opened fire outside Khan's residence in Bandra, leading to several arrests. According to the chargesheet, the Bishnavi gang had taken contracts worth Rs 2.5 million to murder the actor. This plan was developed over several months, from August 2023 to April 2024. The investigation revealed that this gang intended to obtain Turkish-made modern firearms, including AK-47, AK-92, M16 and Zigana Pistols. The weapon was used to kill Punjabi singer Sidhu Muswala on May 29, 2022. This conspiracy was not limited to the procurement of weapons. This extended to carefully planned surveillance operations. According to the indictment, a network of 60 to 70 people were involved in tracking Mr. Khan's every move. The extensive surveillance included his residence in Mumbai, his farmhouse in Panvel and even the film city of Gurgaon, where he frequently visited for filming.
The indictment states that boys under the age of 18 were recruited to carry out the attack. The minors were reportedly waiting for orders to attack Goldi Brar and Anmul Bishnavi, two key figures in the gang who are believed to operate out of North America. A day after the shooting outside Mr. Khan's house, Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde met Mr. Khan and promised help. “The government is on your side,” I said to Salman Khan. Both suspects were arrested. You are being interrogated. We'll get to the bottom of the case. Nobody is spared. Nobody should be targeted in this way,” Eknath said. Shinde said. Reporters in front of the actor's house. “Gangs and gang wars will not be tolerated. We won't let that happen. We will put an end to (Lawrence) Bishnoi,” he added.
