Mushroom Curry Recipe

Are fond to mushrooms? This yummy mushroom curry goes well will rotis or rice. Mushroom curry recipe is easy to prepare and can be served to your guests at special occasions. This tasty mushroom curry dish with creamy and aromatic smell is highly nutritious.

Ingredients for tasty mushroom curry

For onion paste:

Onion - 1 medium or 1 cup, roughly chopped
Garlic cloves - 2, roughly chopped
Ginger - ½ inch piece, chopped
Water - 1 cup

For curry:

Mushrooms - 8 oz or 2 cups sliced
Lemon juice - 1 teaspoon
Oil - 2 tablespoons
Bay leaf - 1
Cloves -3
Green cardamom - 2
Green chilies - 2, chopped finely
Ginger paste - 1 teaspoon
Garlic paste - 1 teaspoon
Salt - to taste
Red chili powder - 1 teaspoon
Garam masala - ½ teaspoon
Yogurt (curd) - ¾ cup
Cilantro - few sprigs, chopped finely

Preparation method for tasty mushroom curry

1. Blanch mushrooms: Add lemon juice and salt to boiling water. Add mushrooms, turn off flame, leave for 2-3 min. Drain all water and add cool water to stop further cooking.
2. Prepare onion paste: Take water in a pan add onion, ginger and garlic. Keep in low flame for 15 min. After onions get softer, let it cool and make paste.
3. Heat oil in a pan and add spices.
4. Add prepared paste.
5. Cook till water evaporates.
6. Add green chilies and ginger garlic paste.
7. Add red chili and garam masala.
8. Mix and cook for 2 min
9. Add yogurt and cook in low flame.
10. Add sliced mushrooms, pour little water and cook for 15 min.
