Two 19-year-old women are at the centre of discussions in the US and UK due to their choice of Halloween costumes for a competition at a nightclub. According to reports, the young women opted for the rubble-ridden World Trade Center costume and were at the receiving end for their insensitivity.
Annie Collinge and Amber Langford wore tube-like costumes with “North Tower” and “South Tower labeled on it.” They wore hats with American flags that also depicted planes crashing into the New York Twin Towers.
The distasteful costume gave them victory and they earned $240 in the competition. Later the women, both students of University of Chester apolozised and reportedly said that their costume was a depiction of modern-day horror.
