Generally, fish are believed to be cold blooded species, whereas human beings, animals, and other mammals are known to be a warm blooded sect. But, recently scientists or researchers have discovered a new fish species that that lives deep in the Pacific Ocean, the researchers from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) named the big fish Opah, which is having the flow of warm blood.

The ‘warm blood’ fish is also known as the moonfish in big size, weighs up to200 pounds (90 kg) and we can take 100 pounds for an average assumptions. Opah has a diameter of 3 feet and can grow to up to 6 feet long in oval shape.

The warm blooded fish is a rusty reddish color fish with white spots and bright red fins. It generally spends time at depths of 165-1,300 feet (50-400 meters), hunting fish and squid.

This organism is the first fish found to be fully warm-blooded, circulating heated blood throughout its body much like mammals and birds, research has revealed.

The Opah like fish are found in the waters of the US, Australia and several other countries. They generate heat by constantly flapping its fins, moreover, they have developed an internal "heat exchange" system within its gills to conserve the warmth.

The Opah maintains an average body temperature of about 4 degree C to 5 degree Centigrade. The respiratory surface also keeps the warmness in gills and body.

The special feature keeps the fish to be active and alert throughout the life. Among other fish, it might be having better eye and brain function.
