Ram Navami celebrated the birth of Lord Rama, son of King Dasharatha of Ayodhya. The festival is celebrated on the ninth day of the bright fortnight of the Hindu month of Chaitra, which usually falls in March or April. Here is a great opportunity to celebrate the birth of Lord Rama in Arizona! Indo American Foundation of Arizona is organizing Sri Rama Navami Celebrations in Arizona on Thursday, 14 Apr 2016.
The event is scheduled to be begin at 9:00 AM at the Ekta Mandir. The program includes Ramayan Path, Purush Sukt, Abhishek,Shodashopachar Puja, Ram Pragat Aarti Jhoola, Archana and Abhishek, Bhajansby Jalaram Mandal, Ayodhya Vasi Ram Janm Mahotsav Yatra, RamJanam Jahnki Darshan, Ram Janam Katha, RamJanam Geet (Songs) and Aarti followed by Mahaprasad.
Ram was an incarnation of Visnu. According to the organizers, the special attraction of the event is Ram Janam Din Ayodhya Jhanki (Float) display in the Ekta Mandir Portico. Entry is free of cost and they will also provide Ramayan books for devotees to read.
