Guru Purnima is a festival dedicated to spiritual and academic teachers. It is celebrated on the day of full moon, Purnima, in the month of Ashadh of the Hindu calendar.
This festival is traditionally celebrated by Hindus, Buddhists and Jains to pay their respects to their teachers and express their gratitude. The celebration is marked by ritualistic respect to the guru, Guru Puja.
The Indo American Foundation of Arizona is organizing an event to celebrate the festival of Guru Purnima in Arizona. Don't miss! The event is scheduled to be held on Tuesday, July 19, 2016 at the Ekta Mandir 2804 W Maryland Ave, Phoenix, AZ 85017. The program will begin at 6:00 PM.
According to the organizers, the event highlights are Satyanarayan Puja and Katha, Guru Puja & Guru Vandana, Hanuman Chalisa & Mahima of Guru Purnima and Aarati followed by Mahaprasad.
