Hikers Hurt in Arizona Mountains Rescued

Authorities of the Phoenix fire department said that they have rescued two women, who were injured in two separate incidents on Sunday along the mountains in Arizona.

The fire department said that the first woman appeared to have fractured her leg, while hiking the Piestewa Peak. The woman lost her balance and fell, when she reached a third of the way up to the mountain.

The 31-year-old woman was in extreme pain and crying out, when the helicopter crews reached her. The woman was treated by a quick medical team and was taken to a hospital trauma center.

The fire department officials also said that they rescued a 36-year-old woman was riding bike with her husband at South Mountain.

She lost her control at the hill and fell off her bike, receiving injuries on her knees and suffering deep scrapes to her face and arms.

She was taken to the hospital by ambulance.
