Wrigley Mansion’s Underwent $1 million Makeover

One of Phoenix’s oldest landmark building Wrigley Mansion, which was constructed by chewing gum magnate William Wrigley. Jr recently went through a $1 million makeover.

This beauty is surrounded by Arizona Biltmore resort and swanky offices, shops and restaurants along Camel-back Road. This mansion was built as a winter home for William Wrigley has now become a popular spot for weddings and a upscale private club.

Some of the updates of this makeover are a new driveway, better air conditioning and Wi-Fi throughout the 24 room mansion and four acres surrounding it.

Other changes that were made are the breakfast room, bridal suite, restrooms, living rooms, formal dining room, bedrooms and verandas.

The makeover gives "the mansion the love it deserves," food and beverage manager Kevin Ferguson said.

General Manager of Wrigley Mansion Ben Sinon said there was no attempt to emulate the original look. He also said that modern additions compliment the estate and echo the design and quality of 1930’s.

Most of the work was finished in July when the mansion was closed for its regular off season, almost 30-40 workers worked on site and completed the work.

The mix of old and new decor blend together, evoking the era and tone the club wants to set.

Like many other historic properties, constant updates were made for Wrigley Mansion too. Sinon described this $1 million led of changes as part of a living project, just as last year when they transformed library into a Wine bar.

Sinon and Hormel family already are planning what will come next, they are expecting to work on exteriors as well as update more rooms in the approximately 19000 square foot estate.

Ferguson said that in next 12-15 months they could see a revamped bar and lounge space in Geordie’s Steak, the mansions restaurant to keep pace with its growing customers.

This home stayed with Wringley’s for generations before they sold it to Geordie Hormel, from then Hormel family was following same path of  Geordie Hormel in making this mansion an accessible place for public as much as possible.

This mansion was purchased by Hormel for $2.6 millions. Sinon estimates the worth to be around $25 to $30 millions as of today.
