The Indian American actor Omi Vaidya, best known for his performance as Chatur Ramalingam or "The Silencer" in the 2009 Bollywood film, 3 Idiots, is setting foot in a popular South Asian Radio station with the show titled ‘The Omi Show’, aired on Rukus Avenue.
The show will be premiering on Monday, April 8.
The Washington-based Vaidya, who gave his unique touch to comic acting in Bollywood, has been since then remembered for his funny bone. In the show, too, he promises to infuse his humor.
“The show will be a sometimes light, sometimes deep discussion of society’s present-day issues but through the lens of the South Asian experience,” Vaidya told American Bazaar. “But I also throw in hilarious stories, jokes, and we play fun old ’90s Bollywood songs to pair with the week’s topic.”
Vaidya is currently seen on Metro Park, a funny, relatable series now running on the OTT platform Eros Now, where he plays an expectant father. With his new radio show, Vaidya shows how it can be interesting to see actors dabble across mediums and reach out to their fans.
The Omi Show will be aired every Monday at 4 p.m. PST and Tuesday at 12 p.m. GMT on rukusavenueradio.com and on the Dash Radio App.
