In January 2025, Skoda, the Czech automotive manufacturer, witnessed an impressive year-over-year growth of 73.9 percent. Despite a month-over-month decline in sales, the company has recorded an increase in its market share. The number of units sold saw a rise from 2,377 in January 2024 to 4,133 in January 2025, marking a substantial growth in annual sales. A significant factor behind this uptick is the introduction of the Kylaq SUV, the latest addition aimed specifically at the Indian market. This SUV, priced from Rs 7.89 lakh (ex-showroom), falls within the sub-4m category. However, when comparing January 2025 to December 2024, there was a 9.24 percent drop in sales, with Skoda selling 4,133 units in January, which is a decrease of 421 units from the previous month’s total of 4,554.

Even with this minor dip in sales from December 2024, Skoda's market share has reflected positive growth. The company's market share increased from 0.60 percent in January 2024 to 1.03 percent in January 2025, resulting in a 0.4 percent rise. Skoda provides a diverse range of models in the Indian market, including the Kushaq in the mid-size SUV category, the Slavia sedan competing with popular models like the Honda City and Volkswagen Virtus, and the Kodiaq in the premium segment.
