Yamaha Motor India recently introduced its mid-range sportbike, the R3, along with the MT-03 streetfighter, positioning them as the leaders in the company's premium motorcycle lineup in the country. However, the initial pricing of these models did not resonate well with consumers. In response to this feedback, the company has announced a significant price drop of Rs 1.10 lakh (ex-showroom) for both flagship bikes. According to Yamaha, the new pricing will take effect from February 1, 2025. Consequently, the Yamaha R3 will now be available for Rs 3.60 lakh (ex-showroom), while the Yamaha MT-03 will be priced at Rs 3.50 lakh (ex-showroom). This adjustment in pricing is anticipated to enhance the competitive edge of these motorcycles against their counterparts in the Indian market.
Your favorite ride, the Yamaha R3, and MT-03 are now available at new prices: ₹3,59,900 and ₹3,49,900, starting today.

The Yamaha R3 faces competition from models such as the Aprilia RS457, which retails at Rs 4.20 lakh (ex-showroom), the KTM RC 390 priced at Rs 3.21 lakh (ex-showroom), and the BMW G 310 RR available for Rs 3.05 lakh (ex-showroom), among others. In parallel, the Yamaha MT-03 competes with bikes like the BMW G 310 R, priced at Rs 2.90 lakh (ex-showroom), and the KTM 390 Duke, which is listed at Rs 3.13 lakh (ex-showroom), among various other competitors.
While the Yamaha R3 and MT-03 are designed with different body styles and cater to distinct segments, they share a common structural foundation. Both models are constructed on a diamond frame that accommodates a 321 cc twin-cylinder liquid-cooled engine, capable of generating 41 hp and 29.5 Nm of peak torque. This engine is paired with a six-speed gearbox featuring a wet multiple disc clutch. Furthermore, each motorcycle is equipped with 17-inch wheels fitted with tubeless tires. For safety, Yamaha provides dual-channel ABS on both models.
