Bangladesh is seeing the worst crisis since their independence. Their prime minister was ousted from the country. A murder case was filed against Sheikh Hasina. However, Hasina flew to India and took shelter in India. Sheikh Hasin released her first statement since she flew from the country. She released her first statement through her son Sajeed Wazed Joy’s social media account, demanding punishment for those involved in the July Killings. Hasina asked the public to observe August 15th as the National Mourning Day. She asked to pray for the Bangabandhu Bhaban by offering garlands. She said all the people who died including women police, leaders, workers and pedestrians who died in the protests are only victims of the terrorist attack. She said she was praying for their souls.

She condemned the attack on the “The Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Majibur Rajman” who is the man behind Bangladesh turning up as an independent nation. She said the attack on him was an insult to the blood of millions of martyrs. Meanwhile, The White House has condemned the allegations that are being made over their involvement in the internal affairs of Bangladesh. They confirmed that they had not interfered in the resignation and fleeing of Sheikh Hasina, who ruled Bangladesh for 15 long years. Any reports regarding this are just rumours and are false. White House Press Secretary Karina Jean Pierre has told the reporters about this in her Monday press conference. Meanwhile, Jean Pierre also responded to Hasina’s quotes in her resignation letter, stating America’s dominance at the Bay of Bengal. ‘

However, Sheikh Hasina’s son Sajeeb Wazed has denied the statement. He said that her mother’s resignation statement was fabricated and she did not make any such statements on the USA before leaving the country. Joy posted this on his social media account.

White House also stated that the current situation in Bangladesh is their people’s choice and Bangladeshi people can decide their future by choosing their government. Jean Pierre once again cleared that, we just want to clarify that our involvement is not there in the Bangladeshi situation and whatever the allegations being made are just baseless. Attacks on minorities are still continuing in Bangladesh interim government chief Muhammad Yunus on Tuesday visited Dhakeshwari temple in Dhaka and requested the protestors to stop attacks on minorities like Hindus and Christians. According to local media, he said that rights are equal for all religious communities and there should not be any differentiation.
